FARM STOCK RULES - 2012
I. Eligibility of Tractor
1. Farm Stock tractors are agricultural tractors having standard block, crankcase and head for
make and model being entered. Chassis must conform with engine being entered. Chassis
includes clutch housing, transmission housing and differential housing. Original style hood, grill
and fenders must be in place. No cubic inch limit. No visual modifications, tractors must
appear stock to the eye.
2. All tractors must have stock model injection pump for that make and model tractor and also
must have a stock size turbo charger or M&W add-on turbo for that make and model of tractor,
but only one air compressing device. Turbos will be limited to 3" input and 3" output.
3. All farm stock tractors must operate within 10% of factory stock RPMs for that make and model,
limited to 3000 RPMs under no-load.
4. All farm stock tractors must have wheelie bars. See attachment for specifications.
5. Water injection will not be allowed.
6. Tire size limited to maximum of 24.5 x 32. Cut or sharpened tires are allowed.
7. Scatter blanket on bellhousing acceptable but not required.
8. Contest open to tractors with rubber tires. No four wheel drive allowed. No dual tires, tire studs
or chains are permitted.
9. No weight frame or weight may extend more than 24" beyond the most forward point of the
tractor. No portion of tractor or weights may interfere with sled or sled hitch during pull.
10. All weights must be safely secured to the tractor and must not extend rearward beyond rear
tires. Any ballast or external parts lost while hooked to the sled will be cause for
disqualification.
11. All throttle working in a forward-rearward direction shall be closed in the rearmost position.
All foot throttles must have a toe strap.
12. All exhaust must discharge vertically upward above the highest point of the tractor, with the
exception of roll bars, and be securely attached. Vertically is defined as being within ten
degress in any direction of being plumb. No rain caps allowed when pulling.
13. Minimum drawbar length is 18" from center of rear wheel to point of hook. Drawbar is to be
stationary in all directions. Maximum height of 20" from top of hitching device, parallel to the
ground. Drawbar must be rigid in all directions and parallel to the ground. Drawbar must be
equipped with a steel hitching device not more than 1" in thickness nor less than 3/4" with a
minimum 3 5/8" diameter opening. Pulling point may not be more than 1 1/2" from back of edge
of hitching device. S clevices will not be allowed.
14. No drawbar supports above centerline of rear axle will be allowed. Unless OEM.
15. All tractors must be equipped with workable rear wheele brakes.
16. No pressurized fuels allowed except in U.L. approved pressure tanks. All pressurized tanks
must be permanently mounted on tractor for field use. All forms of nitro or combustion aiding
chemicals will be illegal as fuel or fuel additive for pulling.
17. The use of torque converters, automatic shifts, etc. will be permitted.
18. Excessive loss of liquid by a tractor while in forward motion during contest on the track will be
cause for disqualification, unless due to internal breakage.
19. Side shields permitted but must be removable for inspection.
20. Tractor must be equipped with a fire extinguisher.
21. Speed Limit: 15mph.
II. Safety and Tractor Operation
1. Excessive wheelies will be cause for disqualification.
2. Tractor must be operated in a safe manner at all times.
3. No consumption of alcoholic beverages in the track or pit area either before or during the
contest. If a judge believes any driver to be a potential hazard because of such consumption,
said driver may be barred from the contest.
4. Tractor must be stopped immediately upon signal from the judge. The pull shall be considered
over when forward motion of the sled stops.
5. All tractors must be in neutral or park while being hooked and unhooked.
6. No riders permitted on tractor while in motion or while engine is running.
III. Operation of Contest
1. Number one puller will be test puller except in pulloff, and may take pull if weight machine is ok
or he/she may pull in third position. If weight machine needs further adjustment, first puller after
each adjustment will be treated as number one puller. All decision on re-pulls must be made
before tractor in question is unhooked from sled. Any disqualification on first attempt bars a
second attempt.
2. Contestant must pull at position drawn within one (1) minute of time sled is ready, any delay
will mean disqualification.
3. All pulls must start with a tight hitch. No jerking permitted. Contestant will be allowed two (2)
consecutive attempts and 75' to start the sled.
4. Tractor must remain within bounaries of contest course during the pull or will be disqualified.
5. No pace tractor will be used.
6. No one allowed on track except for track officials and contestants. NO HELPERS. Track is
defined as area within 35' in any direction of contest course boundaries.
7. Each tractor may be entered in more than one class, but only once in each class.
IV. General Rules
1. Violation of any rule shall constitute a disqualification.
2. Contest to be governed by judge or judges with all decisions final.
V. Eligibility of Contestant
1. All drivers must be 18 years old or 16 with written parental permission.
